Meet T,Th in the Limes field, Grand Anse (in back of gas station) 3-5pm. I've personally worked with this group and had nothing but rewarding experiences. These kids are intelligent and lovable. *Grenada's Hash House Harriers
Every other Saturday, at precisely 1600 hours, a motley group of assorted runners and walkers assemble at a previously designated rum shop, somewhere in Grenada.
After an initial briefing by their leader (known as The Hash Master) they set off in the bush, shouting ON ON.
They follow a trail of flour or shredded paper which takes the “pack” through some of the most attractive parts of the island, and they return to the rum shop a couple of hours later to consume large quantities of beer and undo all the good that this running and walking has done to them. Are these people mad? The “Grand Inquisitor” of the Grenada Hash House Harriers, long-time resident of Grenada John Albanie, endeavors to explain.
My very first thought when I read the paragraph about the Hash House Harriers was "This starts out with Rum?? I'm in!!" LOL Just had to share.
ReplyDeleteHahahah You will come to find out soon (if you haven't already), that rum in mandatory in every Grenadian experience hahah. Have fun out there!
DeleteI'm English-born. My parents are Grenadians. We left the the island when I was eight. There seems to be a lot of interest in Grenada. People are asking me questions on line. I created a forum where those who know more than I do about this wonderful island would stop by drop a few lines to help educate the masses about Grenada. It's surprising how many think that all the Caribbean has to offer is Jamaica. So please take a couple of minutes to just share a little something about Grenada.
